Dopo tre giorni consecutivi di gioco in due formati diversi e complessi, Armel Primot è diventato il nuovo campione di Francia 2011! Pilotando con abilità il suo squadrone bianco-blu, ha sconfitto nei quarti il leggendario Olivier Ruel, a seguire una vittoria in mirror e poi suivampiri gli hanno garantito il titolo. Non è certamente un caso se nel giro di una settimana il mazzo ha saputo aggiudicarsi ben due StarCityGames Open ed un Campionato Nazionale di una nazione prestigiosa a livello competitivo come la Francia. Le versioni americane differivano principalmente da quella sopra listata per la presenza di Jace Beleren e della nuova stregoneria bianca Timely Reinforcements, vero e proprio spauracchio per ogni mazzo aggro.
Si prospetta quindi un metagame abbastanza vario ai Nazionali Italiani, che finalmente si terranno luogo questo fine settimana. Mono Red, UR Twin e Tempered Steel, pur non conseguendo la vittoria finale, hanno comunque popolato le Top8 di tutto il mondo e sono da considerare a tutti gli effetti dei Tier1. Assente dalle prime posizioni UB Control: resa incondizionata o solo una pausa per sistemare al meglio la decklist? Alla settimana prossima per tutte le risposte del caso.

Adoro i vari mazzi basati su Birthing Pod ([in Australia, dove ha vinto questo archetipo, il campione giocava addirittura Tuktuk O__O http://www.metagame.it/liste-mazzi-standard/426-standard-top-8-nazionali-australia.html). Mi ricordano moltissimo quando, ai tempi delle Tempest, si giocavano in Standard i mazzi basati su Survival of the Fittest (per tutorarsi le creature che ci servivano al momento) + Recurring Nightmare per sfruttare il cimitero come una sorta di secondo mazzo. Bei tempi, e bellissimo mazzo.

Da notare che il Red Deck Wins con un 4% di presenza, fa un 25% di piazzamento nei Top8!
