Per riferimento, sotto spoiler la carta di Grimlock. Ancora più sotto, una carrellata dei post di MaRo sui vari argomenti. Siccome è facile dire "mal'hadettoMaRo", ma cerchiamo di fare discussioni costruttive. Premessa: non so in quali altri posti MaRo esprima le sue opinioni, so che c'è un podcast ma non lo seguo. Nel caso qualcuno lo faccia e io mi sia perso qualcosa, sarebbe carino potesse linkare la puntata specifica in cui MaRo afferma qualcosa di utile per la nostra discussione, magari con un bel timestamp per le frasi interessanti.
1) Ricerca su blogatog "meld": MaRo è molto ambiguo sia su quanto ben ricevuta sia stata la meccanica sia sul significato del termine "transform" in relazione al maledetto Grimlock. Non è confermato da nessuna parte che le meld cards non saranno in FTV Transform.August 03, 2016:A couple of years ago I asked you how in the world you could use DFC without using transform. Meld still uses transform. Double-faced cards have a *lot* of design space.

Oops. You’re right. Meld is technically different from Transform. My point was that both use double-face cards similarly from a mechanical viewpoint.

Meld cards do transform and the Planeswalkers don’t technically transform only to get starting loyalty to work.

Meld, currently, is a subset of Transform, although it’s a giant design area. Eternalize is not a subset of Embalm in that it does something Embalm doesn’t do.

If Meld cards do not use the term Transform, they are not “Transformers”.

Only cards that use “Transform” (or are Transformers in the Transformer IP) count as “Transformers”.

There is no current plan for the other cards to appear in a booster product.

No. The card must literally use the “transform” keyword action.

It would be functional errata because cards interact differently with flip cards than double-faced cards.

I'm pretty sure that if you changed the comprehensive rules to add an amendment to the Flip card rule. so that if the card were a DFC, instance of flip means to Transform, but also things that affect Transform cards don't affect it. Voilla, Comp Rules change, no functional errata, all good.
Having cards that transform yet do not interact with cards that are triggered by things transforming sounds like a bad idea.

They would be functionally different because of how other cards interact with them.
