August 03, 2016:A couple of years ago I asked you how in the world you could use DFC without using transform. I just couldn't see it. You replied that you had some ideas, which I at the time found extremely confusing. Now that we got Meld my mind is blown! Such a genius idea! Keep being awesome, Mark!
Meld still uses transform. Double-faced cards have a *lot* of design space.
August 03, 2016:bordergeist asked: You said, "Meld still uses transform." From a formal rules perspective, I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. For example, if you cast Moonmist while there's a Midnight Scavengers in play, the Scavenger doesn't even attempt to transform.
Oops. You’re right. Meld is technically different from Transform. My point was that both use double-face cards similarly from a mechanical viewpoint.
April 16, 2017:shcnoff asked: it seems that you forgot about the origins planeswalkers and meld cards when you stated that you wouldn't want dfcs to turn over without transforming
Meld cards do transform and the Planeswalkers don’t technically transform only to get starting loyalty to work.
July 03, 2017:purpledge69 asked: Hi MaRo! Is it possible to see meld in a set without transform? Same with eternalize not in a set with embalm? I onky ask because i see meld as a subset of transform and eternalize a subset of embalm. Thanks!
Meld, currently, is a subset of Transform, although it’s a giant design area. Eternalize is not a subset of Embalm in that it does something Embalm doesn’t do.
July 30, 2017:iamatimetravelerfrom2306ad asked: "No. The card must literally use the “transform” keyword action." Meld doesn't use the transform keyword action anywhere! Rules-wise, meld and transform are completely separate.
If Meld cards do not use the term Transform, they are not “Transformers”.
July 30, 2017:genericaura asked: Do flip cards count as transformers? They have two obvious forms and don't use the word transform, but Meld doesn't technically transform either.
Only cards that use “Transform” (or are Transformers in the Transformer IP) count as “Transformers”.
2) Ricerca su blogatog di "ftv transform": 1 post, irrelevante.July 30, 2017:swordoath asked: Hi Mark! Yourself and others have stated that Sword of Dungeons & Dragons is in Unstable as well as the Hascon bundle, but that the other cards would not be in that set. Is there any possibility that the other Hascon cards will be in other releases? (ie: Can I get a maybe on Grimlock in FTV Transform, please?)
There is no current plan for the other cards to appear in a booster product.
3) Ricerca su blogatog di "from the vault": Post più recente risalente al 01 April, 2017.4) Ricerca su blogatog di "ftv": ritorna come risultato più recente il post (irrilevante) che chiede se Grimlock sarà in V17. Dopodichè, il post relativo più recente risale al February 23, 2017, e semplicemente chiede quando verrà annunciato V17.korlahn asked: Around this time last year, we had the announcement of the then-next instalment of From the Vault - Lore. Can we expect an announcement for he 2017 FTV product within the next month or so?
It will be part of the big announcement of the next batch of products.
5) Ricerca su blogatog di "transform": troviamo qualcosa sui flip-walkers. Notare come comunque tutto ruoti intorno al sempre più maledetto Grimlock (maledetto lui, tutte le carte scherzo e chi le prende troppo sul serio).July 30, 2017:iamatimetravelerfrom2306ad asked: "A “Transformer” is defined (other than being a Transformer in the Transformer IP) as being a creature on either end of transformation." Is Werebear a "transformer?"
No. The card must literally use the “transform” keyword action.
August 01, 2017:mgmegadog asked: Why don't the flip-walkers count as transformers? They use the transform mechanic, after all...
They technically don’t.
6: Ricerca di "flip" su blogatog, per le flip cards di Kamigawa. Queste sono le uniche info che parlano di ristampe.December 30, 2016:hakuplaneswalker asked: Hey Mark, about the flip cards from Kamigawa, would it be possible for them to get reprinted as double-faced cards if it was "transform" instead of "flip"? Or it isn't just about the keyword?
It would be functional errata because cards interact differently with flip cards than double-faced cards.
April 16, 2017:uroborus-void asked: "Ruleswise, flip card and double-faced cards are different so it would be functional errata which we shy away from doing." I'm pretty sure that if you changed the comprehensive rules to add an amendment to the Flip card rule. so that if the card were a DFC, instance of flip means to Transform, but also things that affect Transform cards don't affect it. Voilla, Comp Rules change, no functional errata, all good.
Having cards that transform yet do not interact with cards that are triggered by things transforming sounds like a bad idea.
April 16, 2017:corvus-abyssus asked: Regarding flip card reprints: Couldn't you make functional reprints with the same exact costs and effects as DFCs, with the only change being "flip" to "transform"?
They would be functionally different because of how other cards interact with them.
